Ill-chosen book titles

Our math library has a new book in stock: “Monte Carlo methods in finance.”

I’m just going to assume that this book is about numerical simulations, and not about taking the company till and running off to play blackjack…

Ah, but the title was catching enough to make you stop and consider it, and therefore more likely to pick it up to answer such questions, and has therefore has succeeded in its marketing where countless other books with more boring, predictable, or revealing titles have failed to catch your attention at all.
    (I can’t believe I just wrote a comment twice as long as your post.)

  4. Given some of the business models I’ve seen over the years (thankfully not as many since people wisened up in the tech industries), this method probably offers better odds.
