Checking to see if the stars are still moving…

In the past 24 hours, Arafat has gone from “sick” to “hospitalized in what is aides deny is critical condition;” the Red Sox may be on the verge of winning the World Series; and I can’t talk about today’s events at work, but there were at least two major and unexpected turns.

Oh yes, and there’s a lunar eclipse tonight.

Has someone been fscking with the laws of nature again?

Edit: The Red Sox just won the series!

  1. Yeah, Arafat gets “sick” just as the Knesset agrees to give up settlements. Sharon’s plan, no less. Might see some real movement in that fight soon.
The stars are still moving, but whether they’re in their accustomed paths, I couldn’t say.

  3. This is definitely a crazy year. Ichiro broke the 84 yr-old hit record, and Superman died too. Big things moving everywhere now.
I just hope that people are superstitious enough to be influenced by the Massachusetts team win . . .

  5. I don’t think this one was a plot. He’s been getting steadily sicker for a while; this could just be his long-expected natural end.
But yes, Sharon coming up with a genuine plan for peace (or something at least vaguely like it) is sounding an awful lot like a sign of the Apocalypse…

  7. *l* Let us hope.

  9. Not suggesting a plot, although my conspiratorial aesthetic leaped on the idea. Just one more curious alignment of the stars, though, I think.
I keep meaning to post my thoughts on this conflict, but I’d have to devote a good chunk of time to it. And I’m still trying to find time to post about possible Russian resurgence. Or collapse. Either way.
Anyways, just want to say hi, and keep writing. I don’t comment much, because you don’t leave much to be said. But I’m reading. Good stuff.

ooh, sorry, trying to get that paradox is balance spell perfected. all should return to normal …. sooner or later, for some value of normal 🙂
Given our little chat about astrology while you were here visiting I thought I’d share some tidbits about eclipses that my instructors gave us. You know two weeks ago yesterday there was a solar eclipse, Mary (the instructor) told us that solar eclipses tend to carry along enough power to weaken the “veil” between this world and the next. Because of this they’ve often been known as a signal of the death of kings. Lunar eclispses bring out far more emotional aspects of life so perhaps that’s why the sox one the series? 🙂
It’s often quite out there but there’s some interesting correlations of what’s happened lately and the timing of the two eclipses. The moon was gorgeous last night and I totally had to kick myself’s ass all over for not thinking to get the ‘scope out and set up. I really need to get it re-stored someplace much easier to get to than the back corner of the storage closet :P. Despite the threatening cloud cover during the late afternoon here we had beautiful clear non windy skies for viewing the moon, with a perfect angle from the front porch.
