   It’s scheduled to be a full translation of the main part (commentaries on the Torah) in ten volumes, plus two volumes summary of the extra parts. So far, only the first two volumes are out; I just got them yesterday. It’s looking like a very good critical edition.

At the matric dinner, he said that he couldn’t go to the post-dinner drinks because he had to work the next day. He’d already told me that he’d been a professional jazz musician in New York for several years, so I was surprised that he had to get up early to work. I said, “what do you do?” He said, “I’m on the police force. I’m a detective.”
